What Rose is doing...

Best friends or now enemies? Water fight in Caldwell County splits neighbors, political allies. Former Texas Comptroller John Sharp once was a political godfather to state Rep. Patrick Rose, D-Dripping Springs. They really aren’t enemies now but have different views and don’t quite seem to agree on things any more. The problem with them is that Sharp wants to distribute water from Caldwell County to other counties or expand the water districts. Rose doesn’t want to do this because he feels that they are not in the need of distributing their water supply. The others just want to make money off of the situation and Rose as the good man he is, he is watching out for the people of the county. As the author explains in his article, maybe it should be up to the people in the county to decide whether they want to share their water supply or not. Rose doesn’t always know what is best and he should look for a second opinion with the people he serves.
The author, Laylan Copelin, did great in describing everything that is going one with the conflict, but I think he went too much in detail describing other things as well. Overall I think it was a good article rather lengthy, but it gave me a better view about the things Rose has to do and how he manages to take care of the people. Though I do think he needs to let the people decide what they want to do in regards to the water issue and how they want to use it or share it.

So it seems I am not the only one interested in what Patrick Rose is up to. Rose appeared predictable when I watched the Rose V. Green documentary in class. Rose appeared to have good motives and someone who would truly fight for the people. The Water Fight in Caldwell County supports my beliefs that he’d be young, bold and a little arrogant. He’s crossing paths with a longtime mentor and I think it’s noble. I also wondered if his good looks and age would work against him and the commentary in the articles “Rose doesn’t always know….” Indicates the good ol’ boys are taking their cheap shots. Good for you Rose, I encourage you to keep on keeping on. Before I convince you I am completely sold, it’s still in the back of my mind that the federal investigation against his strong incumbent Patrick Green was lifted after Rose won the election.
