Capital Metro Rail Line

The Capital Metro Go line will begin running sometime around next year in 2008. Many people are for it any many people are against it. Of those people that are for the railroad are the ones that rely on the Capital Metro transportation system on a daily basis. I am for the railroad system and agree with everything for the most part. The railroad line will facilitate on how people get to work, school, and other places. The railroad line will be running from Leander to downtown. Normally it would take an hour or a few hours to get to one place to another but with the train it would be more then less the half of time.
The people that do not agree with the Capital Metro railroad are those who do not want the train running so close to their house. The tracks though have been there for a while without a use, and since they are already there might as well give them a use on something useful. I think it is silly of those people opposing to it just because the train will be running fairly close to their house, as a matter of fact, even though there was a not a train running at the time they still knew train tracks were there and sooner or later there would be a use for them.
I rely a lot on the Capital Metro transportation because it is affordable and convenient, and now it will be more convenient with the rail line opening soon. I can’t wait!

A reply to: and a justice for all...

I completely agree with the author of this article, there should be other forms of justice other than executions. But then again I have to contradict myself because some do need that sort of punishment. Though I don’t think it is the correct way to punish anyone, and I don’t think anyone has the right to take life away. I believe God is the only one to give and take life away.
Texas punishment is tough I have to agree on that but sometimes the punishment given is not given correctly. For example, stealing 2 dollars in Texas could get you a life sentence, while other things that are more of a crime get you less time.
In regards to the appeals process, if Keller had not shut the door at five o’clock and had taken the appeal, than Texas would seem weak. Since the judges are elected they have to be tough and show that they take punishment seriously. The way they receive their punishment though should not be based on their gender or their race. Punishment should be equal and also equal to the crime that was committed.
The appeals via email might help but if the defendant’s life is on the line I don’t see why they should wait until the last minute to turn in the appeal.
Overall I agree with the article and found some very interesting points.

Sending Away Tomorrows Future

The United States needs to do something about the immigration debate. Immigration affects everybody not just one, and need to work together to get to an agreement. Many foreign born come for a better future and education, It is not fair that they are being sent back for wanting to better themselves. Like it or not the immigrants contribute to the United States.
Many foreign born students, especially hispanics continue their education but don’t get to high school. The ones that do get to high school are usually the ones who also attend college.
There are many foreign born graduates of an American university. Most of those graduates choose to stay in this country and want to apply what they have learned contribute to our economy. In order to work in the field of which they have studied for they must obtain a temporary visa. It is not possible though to give visas to every graduate, there is a certain amount they give out each year. Once they have obtained their visa they apply for a green card to become a permanent U.S. resident. Unfortunately, massive backlogs in the green card system leave some professionals waiting up to six years or more. This drives the talented and educated to other countries and giving the United States a loss for the people that were educated here but go and work for the United States competitors.
We are educating tomorrow’s future for the United States and sending them out of the country. It is time to do something, and fix the immigration system.
